The Rocky Corner project is a unique and increasingly popular form of housing called cohousing. Homes are privately owned, while outdoor space and a large common house are shared. Green Haven, Inc. has received funding to develop 30 units of cohousing with 9 of the houses as affordable homeownership at its 4 and 21 Meyers Road properties in Bethany, CT. This housing will be arranged in clustered structures scattered throughout the central 5 acres. The project will offer 1, 2, and 3 bedroom houses for purchase, 5 houses at 60% AMI, 4 at 80% AMI and 21 at market price. While this concept is not for everyone, it self-selects those who are looking for more community in their lives, like an old-fashioned neighborhood.
